Critter Comforts

Frightened animals in local animal shelters need all the comfort we can give them.

Help us make soft beds for cats and dogs out of our cotton fabric scraps and bits of batting.

How you can help:

  • Donate a full yard of fabric we can fold in half and stitch for a dog bed

  • Half yard pieces will be folded in half and stitched for cats and small dog beds

  • Keep a shopping bag near your cutting table at home

  • Randomly slice your cotton batting and fabric scraps into small pieces

  • Sweep the pieces into the shopping bag - *careful to keep the pins away

  • Bring the scraps with you to SNS and place them in the scrap collection bag

Please join us for our Barks and Bears weekend

Saturday and Sunday, April 29th and 30th

There will be two Outreach sewing projects be sewn-

  • Critter Comforts team, Joyce and Colleen, will show you how to stitch up the bed covers and slice up the scraps.  Then the beds are filled and stitched closed

  • Mary Mahaney will show you how to make the flannel teddy bears for the emergency room at Emerson Hospital.  Every child brought to the emergency room is given a soft, comforting bear

Come for an hour or both days.  Any time you can give will be appreciated.
